I know there are some repairs that end up being almost as much as the entire system
At the start of the cold season I was ready to fire up my furnace in Terrell, Texas. I hit the on button and nothing happened. I then proceed to panic. I immediately got on the phone with a Terrell, TX furance repair business. Something hugely went wrong with my heater. Not turning on was a big deal. The rep on the phone was super nice and tried to calm me down. She had me replace the batteries in my remote, clean the air filter, and try again. No dice. It was a huge repair, I could feel it. When the Terrell furnace repairman came over I was ready for a super high bill. The guy inspected all the inner workings and found only a little bit of dust. He looked at the ductwork and found something wrong. Then he went to my thermostat. The repair wasn’t my furnace after all. It was just a thermostat error. Thankfully my furnace repair business is a jack of all trades. They repair all makes and models of heating equipment and they do thermostats. The thermostat was repaired in a jiff, the furnace was serviced, and my end bill wasn’t too bad at all. I was super glad the furnace was in good working order. I know there are some repairs that end up being almost as much as the entire system. Nobody is financially ready and excited to buy a completely new heating system out of the blue. Thermostat trouble is always a lucky break. It is much cheaper to fully replace.
